UAP has spent thirty years building a reputation around Architecture and Pharmacy. A guide to what makes its programs distinctive, who it suits, and the realistic cost in 2026.

University of Asia Pacific (UAP) was founded in 1996 and is one of the older private universities in Bangladesh. Unlike many newer institutions that pivoted toward CSE and Business, UAP held on to its original identity as a school for Architecture, Pharmacy, and Civil Engineering — and that focus is the main reason it still attracts a particular kind of applicant.

UAP operates from its permanent campus in Farmgate (74/A Green Road), a tall purpose-built academic block with dedicated studios, drafting halls, and a pharmaceutical sciences wing.

What UAP Is Known For

  • Architecture (5 years): Long-running B.Arch program, recognised by the Institute of Architects Bangladesh. The studio culture is taken seriously — night-time studio work, jury reviews, and external critics are standard.
  • Pharmacy (5 years): One of the older private B.Pharm programs in the country. Strong industry connection to the Tejgaon-area pharmaceutical companies.
  • Civil Engineering: Mid-size department with consistent placement in consulting and government project work.
  • EEE, CSE: Functional engineering programs; smaller cohorts.
  • BBA, Economics, English: Reasonable sizes, conventional curricula.

The Architecture-First Culture

If you have ever walked through UAP's upper floors during a final-jury week, the difference is visible. Architecture occupies multiple floors of dedicated studio space; students keep models, drafts, and physical prototypes at their assigned desks. This is the kind of program that demands time and physical presence in a way that engineering or business programs do not.

Admission Test

  • Three intakes per year (Spring, Summer, Fall).
  • Written test: English, Math, subject-specific section.
  • Architecture applicants additionally take a freehand drawing test and submit a portfolio.
  • Interview for shortlisted Architecture and Pharmacy applicants.

Eligibility

  • Architecture: HSC Science background with Math; combined SSC+HSC GPA 8.00.
  • Pharmacy: HSC Science with Biology; combined GPA 8.00.
  • CSE / EEE / Civil: Combined GPA 7.50.
  • BBA / Economics / English: Combined GPA 7.00.

Tuition

  • Architecture (5 years): 13,00,000 – 15,00,000 BDT.
  • Pharmacy (5 years): 12,00,000 – 14,00,000 BDT.
  • Civil / CSE / EEE: 9,00,000 – 11,00,000 BDT.
  • BBA: 7,00,000 – 8,50,000 BDT.

Scholarships

  • Merit-based waivers up to 100% based on semester CGPA.
  • Special admission waivers for students of Architecture and Pharmacy with HSC Golden A+.
  • Freedom Fighter quota.
  • Limited UAP Trust scholarships for students from outside Dhaka.

Who UAP Suits

UAP makes most sense if Architecture or Pharmacy is your primary target. The university has spent decades sharpening these two programs, and the depth shows. For CSE or BBA alone, larger universities will give you broader peer networks. But few private universities can match UAP for studio-based Architecture education at this price.

How to use this guide

AdmissionTestBD articles are written as practical decision notes for Bangladesh applicants. Read the summary first, then use the verification checklist below before spending money on an application, coaching course, hostel plan, or private university admission form.

  • Confirm the current admission circular and application deadline from the official university or UGC-listed profile.
  • Compare the program strength, campus location, tuition cost, scholarship rules, and commute before shortlisting.
  • Keep screenshots or saved copies of fee, eligibility, and waiver pages because private university pages change often.

Correction and update policy

If a circular, fee, eligibility rule, or official link changes after publication, send the page URL and the updated official source to contact@admissiontestbd.com. We prioritize corrections that affect application decisions, exam preparation, fees, or student safety.
